This week a tip by our account manager Toby, who is dealing with the nonprofit industry, about how to set goals for a successful webinar. For clients in the nonprofit industry sharing knowledge is one of the most important and most widely used applications. Members of these different organizations see webinars as added value to the membership and it shows the members that innovation takes place.

Webinar goal
In the previous tip, Fleur has indicated how to obtain sufficient registrations for your webinar. When participants have signed up, it is important that relevant and interesting information will be shared with them.

It is very crucial to determine in advance what the goal for your webinar is. In other words, what do you want to achieve with this webinar? This can be for example:

  • to activate
  • to educate
  • to inform
  • to demonstrate

When the goal is clear, you are well advised to customize your presentation to the set goal. Follow us for tips on composing your presentation. Everything in your preparation will have to make sure that the ultimate goal is achieved.

Once the goal is determined, it is wise to get insight when the webinar will be "successful" for you, your department or company. In determining this, it is necessary to keep in mind the previously established goal. Only aiming at achieving a certain number of participants in your webinar is not an effective proxy for the degree of success, according to Toby. It does not say anything about how the information shared in the webinar is experienced; whether the participants actually have learned something or if they were activated to respond to a pre-determined action.
